Lancaster (Texas) three-star offensive tackle Tobias Steppes has committed to the TCU Horned Frogs. He announced the news on Twitter.

Steppes is the No. 658 overall prospect and No. 47 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 110 player in Texas.

The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder isn’t ranked in the 2024 On300 but On3 ranks him as the No. 36 offensive tackle in the country and No. 95 player in Texas.

Steppes is the fourth commitment in TCU’s 2024 recruiting class. He joins Tyler (Texas) Tyler Legacy four-star EDGE Travis Jackson, Fort Worth (Texas) Aledo three-star quarterback Hauss Hejny and The Woodlands (Texas) three-star offensive tackle Ryan Hughes.

With Steppes’ commitment, the Horned Frogs’ class rose 14 spots from No. 43 to No. 29 in the country. They also boast the No. 2 class in the Big 12.

TCU wrapped up the 2023 recruiting cycle signing 23 players. That class finished as the No. 19 class in the country and No. 3 in the Big 12.

Steppes currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $17.8. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
