WATCH: TCU commit Jaylon Guilbeau powerslams wideout for great tackle
Jaylon Guilbeau ended the weekend announcing his commitment to TCU.
But the four-star cornerback started it by laying down one of the biggest bone-crushing tackles of the young high school season in Port Arthur (Texas) Memorial’s win over La Porte (Texas) High.
La Porte had the ball around midfield and ran a quarterback bootleg. The quarterback found his slot receiver on an out route for a short gain.
The receiver could only take two steps before Jaylon Guilbeau wrapped him up, lifted him way up into the air and slammed him to the ground.
It looked more like a finishing move for a WWE wrestler than a high school defensive back making a tackle.
Port Arthur won the game 34-0.
Jaylon Guilbeau will be in Fort Worth next season
Guilbeau committed to TCU on Sunday, which will take him from the Gulf Coast of Texas to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
He had been committed to Texas before decommitting over the summer.
The Longhorns were still in contention for Guilbeau, who picked the Horned Frogs over Texas and Texas A&M.
Jaylon Guilbeau is the No. 184 prospect in the 2022 On300 and the 19th-best corner in the class.

He joins three other Texas natives — Houston Klein Cain wide receiver Matthew Golden, Gladewater (Texas) High wide receiver DJ Allen and Arlington (Texas) Mansfield Summit defensive lineman Joseph Adedire — as TCU’s other On300 commits.
Guilbeau commitment a bright spot for TCU this weekend
Jaylon Guilbeau’s pledge to the Horned Frogs comes after a disappointing 42-34 loss to Metroplex rival SMU.
The loss was TCU’s second straight in the Iron Skillet, which was not contested last season.
The two teams got into a fight around midfield after the game. SMU’s Rashee Rice, who had hyped up the rivalry during the week by saying the Horned Frogs were scared to play the Mustangs in 2020, grabbed an SMU flag and tried to plant it in the TCU logo at midfield.
The planting did not go over well with the Horned Frogs, who ran out to confront Rice and take the flag down.
