2026 4-star TE Carson Sneed sets commitment date
Nashville (Tenn.) Donelson Christian Academy On300 2026 tight end Carson Sneed dropped his top five schools at the beginning of June, naming Ohio State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Louisville and Tennessee on that list.
Almost two months later, he’s nearly ready to announce his commitment. On Thursday, Sneed posted that he will make his decision on August 5 between that quintet of programs.
“I mean I’ve got a great relationship with all them,” Sneed told On3’s Steve Wiltfong of his finalists back in June. “And they’ve all got a message that sounds great to me and my family.”
Added Sneed: “I picked them for similar reasons. They all show insane love to my family they think highly of me and think I can be an every-down tight end in the NFL once I’m developed.”

Heading into his decision, the momentum is with Tennessee. The Vols are the heavy favorite, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). That comes after an expert pick from Wiltfong earlier this week.
And the latest intel from On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons matches that:
“Tennessee has always been a school high on his list, but the Vols may have created some separation at the top as he enters his junior season,” Simmons said earlier this week. “He trimmed his list to five schools earlier this summer and could make an early decision.”
The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder is the No. 172 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 9 tight end and No. 4 recruit in the Volunteer State.
