4-star power forward Cade Phillips commits to Tennessee
Cade Phillips, a 6-foot-9 power forward out of Jacksonville (Ala.) School has committed to Tennessee, he tells On3.
“I picked Tennessee because on my visits there it just felt different,” Phillips said to On3. “The culture and environment around there was just awesome and didn’t feel like any other place.”
To go along with the Vols, the four-star big man also received offers from Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Florida State, and others. Phillips is ranked as the No. 92 overall prospect in the class of 2023, according to the On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The Crimson Tide was the first high major program to offer Phillips, an Alabama native. Phillips was an Alabama legacy recruit as his dad, John David Phillips, played quarterback for the Tide, as did his uncle, Brodie Croyle, who later went on to play in the NFL. His grandfather, John Croyle, was an All-American defensive lineman for ‘Bama. Even his mother, Reagan Croyle Phillips, played basketball down in Tuscaloosa.
