Derby (Kan.) four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame has added another official visit to his itinerary this summer.

With a trip already planned to Oregon the weekend of June 14, Brame will now visit Tennessee the weekend before as the Vols make to look a big push in his recruitment. Along with the Ducks and Vols, Ole Miss is another major contender in his recruitment.

But after there being serious buzz around Oregon earlier this spring, the Vols are making a major move in his recruitment, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.

“Even when Oregon was the trending school, Tennessee got him on campus and really impressed Brame,” Simmons said. “He likes Knoxville, he likes the pass-heavy scheme that Josh Heupel runs, and he’s also been in touch with [five-star quarterback commit] George MacIntyre.”

In December, Brame named his top eight schools, a list that included Oregon, Tennessee, Alabama Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, Texas A&M, and Kansas State.

“It is hard to focus on schools with 30 offers,” he added. “I was ready to narrow it down, focus on these and I plan to commit in mid-summer. It should happen during the dead period in July. I am now working to get to the finish line. I will keep going out, taking visits, talk to the players and find the best school for me.”

Tennessee ramping up its pursuit of Brame

Since that time though, Tennessee’s efforts have turned up. And they have quickly moved up the list of schools he’s considering. He visited Knoxville in March — his third trip there as a recruit — and by all accounts that trip was a major success.

“The coaching staff is a great family feeling here,” he told VolQuest after his visit. “Being in the meetings with the players and seeing how they interact with each other was really cool. There’s competition in the room but everyone treats you like family and help each other out to get better.”

The Kansas native also spent time with some fellow members of the class of 2025 who are committed to the Vols which he said was beneficial.

“It was good. George (MacIntyre) and Jack (Van Dorselaer) and some guys committed in my class were up here. It was good to be able to hang out with them, see them and ask them about the process and why they chose Tennessee,” Brame offered. “Tennessee feels like a family deal for them. They really enjoy it here.”
