Alabama transfer WR Amari Jefferson commits to Tennessee
WR Amari Jefferson has committed to Tennessee out of the NCAA Transfer Portal per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Jefferson did not appear in any games or record any statistics in his lone season at Alabama.
Jefferson, a Chattanooga native, played high school football at Baylor School. He was the No. 204 overall recruit there as a four-star prospect in the 2024 cycle. He also rated as a Top-50 WR and the No. 6 player out of the state of Tennessee. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. All that made him a player rated in the top half of the Tide’s last class out of 28 signees.
Coming out of high school, Jefferson chose ‘Bama over the Volunteers originally as well as Georgia and stayed amidst the coaching change last offseason from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer.

Jefferson was also a commit on the diamond with what he can be on the baseball field. After previously committing to play for the Volunteers, he was set to be part of the Tides’ program instead.
Now, over a year later, Jefferson is headed back to Rocky Top as a transfer from out of T-Town.
