Billy Amick grand slam blows Knxoville Regional game vs. Indiana open
Rain is not the only thing falling in Knoxville on Saturday evening. Tennessee home runs have come in bunches against Indiana, with Billy Amick having the grandest of them all. Amick hit a third inning grand slam for the Volunteers, blowing the game open early.
With the bases loaded and no outs, there was no wasting time for Amick in the batter’s box. The first pitch he saw got sent over the left field wall into rows of Tennessee fans. Luckily, tents were there to protect them from the ball heading their way.

There is still a lot of baseball left but Indiana has a massive gap to make up if they want to get back in the game. As the ESPN broadcast mentioned, there are no run rules in the NCAA Tournament, meaning all nine innings must be played. Tennessee will have plenty of time to add a few more runs as well.
Southern Miss is awaiting the loser of this contest, playing an elimination game. Anybody not named Tennessee getting out of the Knoxville Regional is going to be tough, especially if you have to beat the Vols twice.
The offense is clearly clicking at the right time, with Amick’s home run being the latest example.
