Bru McCoy will come back to Tennessee in 2023, according to Wes Rucker. The Volunteers wide receiver debated on going pro or coming back to school and he chose the latter.

After a college career that did not quite pan out at Texas and USC amid lack of playing time and recruiting flips, McCoy found success with the Volunteers. He finished this season with 48 catches, 619 yards, three touchdowns and 12.9 yards per catch.

McCoy was ranked as a five-star prospect in the Class of 2019, per the On3 Consensus and was the No. 19 overall prospect in the class. He was also the No. 2 wide receiver in the class.

“The day he was able to run routes — he’s an incredible athlete. We have a receiver room full of playmakers, so whenever I can get the ball to them in space, that’s what I want to do,” Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker said, speaking of McCoy and the incredibly talented Tennessee wide receiving corps, earlier this season. “They make great plays whenever I do get it to them. Whenever it’s a pivotal point in the game and I need someone to lean on, I can lean on any one of them.

“Hats off to all of them for continuing to work hard, and coming in with a chip on their shoulder.”
