LOOK: Cordarrelle Patterson makes Rashaan Evans wear Rocky Top checkerboard after Vols stun Crimson Tide
Cordarrelle Patterson and Rashaan Evans had a friendly bet over the Tennessee vs. Alabama game that saw the Volunteers stun the Crimson Tide in a 52-49 classic. As a former Alabama star, Rashaan Evans had to pay up and wear the Volunteers’ patented orange checkerboard overalls to the Atlanta Falcons practice facility on Wednesday.
Check out the photo shared by Patterson on his Twitter page.
Patterson was surely sweating the bet out all the way down to the final moments of Saturday’s historic victory for the Volunteers. First, Alabama kicker Will Reichard missed a 40-yard field goal attempt. Then, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker led his team down the field into field goal range. And Chase McGrath drilled the field goal of a lifetime from 40-yards out. The kick was partially blocked by an Alabama defender, and the football barely cleared the crossbar, sending Neyland Stadium into pure pandemonium. It’ll go down as one of the greatest games and atmospheres in college football history, there is no doubt about that.
As long as the Volunteers continue to remain undefeated, Patterson’s teammates on the Falcons are likely to see yet another teammate wear the checkerboard. Pull up a seat for Tennessee-Georgia in two weeks.
Patterson has been on a roll winning bets with his Volunteers
Patterson has been a roll dishing out the punishments this season, as his teammate Kyle Pitts had to wear the same checkerboard once his beloved Florida Gators lost to the Vols, 38-33.

The bet almost went the other way when the Gators miraculously recovered an onside with less than a minute remaining in the one-score game, the Tennessee defense held firm, as the Vols pass rush got home on Anthony Richardson and his throw as he went to the ground was intercepted short of the end zone by Kamal Hadden.
Patterson can savor the win, and the photo of his former Gators’ superstar teammate. Still, it’s all fun and games for the two, and who knows? Maybe they could run the bet back next year.
