“It means everything to me,” Dalton Bargo said. “Ever since I was six years old going games, even at Rosenblatt when it was still the stadium, but it’s been a dream and goal of mine since I was a little kid. Being a part of a team and being a reason that we’re going back to Omaha, it’s everything I could ever ask for, and I’m thankful for the opportunities I was given and made the most of them.”
A sophomore for Tennessee, Dalton Bargo played the 2023 season at Missouri before transferring. He went on to play in 48 games and earned 26 starts during the 2024 season. During that time, he hit .294, had a .383 OBP, and a .578 slugging percentage. He also had eight home runs and 27 RBIs. On the defensive side of things, he didn’t commit an error all season.
Bargo was Tennessee’s DH in the clinching win over Evansville. He lived up to the role well, going two for four with a pair of home runs. Both of those were solo shots, giving him two RBIs on the day as well. It was part of an offensive effort that helped keep the game from being particularly close late, and in the end, the Volunteers ran away with the game for a final score of 12-1.

A big piece of why Bargo transferred to Tennessee was to get these kinds of opportunities and play in clinching games during the Super Regional. That’s exactly what he got to do in the final win over Evansville.
“It’s everything I expected. It’s why I made the decision that I did, and why I came here is to win and get back home. That’s exactly what we did, and I expected nothing less,” Bargo said.
“But we’ve still got a couple more weeks of baseball to play, and it’s time to bring home a Natty.”
The first team Tennessee will play when it gets to Omaha and the College World Series is going to be Florida State.
