Elite 2025 QB George MacIntyre visits Tennessee
One of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 cycle is on Rocky Top as Tennessee takes on Texas A&M inside Neyland Stadium on Saturday.
Nashville Brentwood Academy four-star QB George MacIntyre made the trip East to Knoxville to check out the Volunteers for his fifth documented trip with the SEC program. The 6-foot-5.5, 185-pounder is the No. 13 overall prospect and No. 2 QB in the 2025 class, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
MacIntyre named his top 10 schools earlier this week, but Tennessee recruiting insider Matt Ray thinks it’s really a three-team race. The Vols appear to be towards the top as MacIntyre begins the next chapter of his recruitment.
“It’s early but I think this is kind of a signal for George MacIntyre that he’s starting to push this process a little bit faster,” Ray said Thursday during On3’s Inside Scoop recruiting show. “It’s starting to slow down a bit more for him and as it does, I think this is the core group of schools that stand out to him. Obviously some of the other schools are still hanging around but if you look at where he’s been, it’s Tennessee, Alabama and LSU. Those are the three common visitors he tends to get out on the road and see, and I think his two best relationships right now are with Tennessee and Alabama.”
This weekend will be MacIntyre’s third visit to Tennessee this year. He was in Knoxville at the end of January and the beginning of April. Head coach Josh Heupel is front and center as the Vols try and lock up another elite QB pledge.
“I think I’ve seen what Tennessee has done with the ’24 class, kind of locking down the state,” MacIntyre said in September. “All the guys that they wanted to get, they got mostly all of them. So that’s impressive for me to see. And then being an in-state kid and growing up, I wouldn’t say I’m a Tennessee fan but I’ve always watched from afar.

… And seeing the change from when they were bad to when they were good, and seeing how special that fan base can be when they’re good like they are now, it’s definitely really cool.”
MacIntyre has an On3 NIL Valuation of $321K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
George MacIntyre Scouting Summary
“Tall, strong-armed passer who looks like one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 cycle early on. Has a slender build, checking in around 6-foot-5, 180-pounds. Flashes a quick, tight throwing motion with the ability to drive the ball downfield with ease. Comfortable delivering to multiple levels of the field from within the pocket or outside of structure. Capable of placing high-level throws into tight windows.
…More of a pass-first quarterback, but shows encouraging pocket movement and improvisational skills as a first-year varsity starter. Posted an efficient sophomore season while playing against good competition. Doubles as a top basketball player with Power 5 offers on the hardwood. Will need to continue adding mass and strength to his frame. Projects as one of the top 2025 quarterback prospects.”
