Former Tennessee running back joins Tennessee Tech coaching staff
Former Tennessee Volunteer running back Bryce Brown announced on Thursday he has joined Tennessee Tech’s football coaching staff. He will coach the Golden Eagles’ running backs.
“I am excited to announce that I have accepted a position as the running backs coach at Tennessee Tech University,” Brown announced in a Twitter post on Thursday. “I am grateful and excited for the opportunity, and I can’t wait to get to work. My family and I are honored to represent both the university and the community in Cookeville, Tennessee.”
He played running back for the Volunteers in 2009 and tallied over 550 all-purpose yards and four total touchdowns. As a high school prospect, Brown was one of the highest-rated players in America in the 2009 recruiting class. The East High School (Wichita, Kansas) product was rated as a five-star prospect and the No. 8 overall prospect in the country, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings. Brown also played in the 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Following his college career with the Tennessee Volunteers, Brown moved onto the Kansas State Wildcats. In the NFL, the former Volunteer flashed his five-star talent in a few games, but could never match the incredible production he once saw in high school.
