Tennessee jumped on Alabama early in their matchup on Saturday, and Hendon Hooker tied a school record with his first passing touchdown. After pushing their lead to 14-7 in the first quarter, Hooker found himself tied atop the Tennessee history books with his 18th-straight game with a passing touchdown.

Hooker connected with receiver Jalin Hyatt for a 36-yard toss into the end zone to put the pressure on the Crimson Tide.

The hot start saw Hooker complete four of his first five passing attempts for 70 yards, including the touchdown pass. It didn’t stop there either for Hooker or Hyatt, as the Crimson Tide’s subsequent possession went the wrong direction for Bryce Young as they were backed up on their own goal line. After a punt that didn’t even cross midfield, Hooker and the Volunteers struck again with another 27 passing yards by Hooker and a second touchdown grab for 11 yards by Hyatt — pushing their lead to 21-7 over the number three ranked team in the nation.
