Tennessee standout Jalin Hyatt won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top wide receiver. He won it over players like Marvin Harrison Jr. on the back of several monster performances, like his six-catch and five-touchdown game against Alabama.

After winning the Biletnikoff, Jalin Hyatt said he was “blessed” to be on the stage with that opportunity. He also credited his coaches, teammates, and family. While speaking to the media, Jalin Hyatt spoke about his initial reaction to winning the award.

“Obviously, at the time I heard my name, I’m just grateful,” Jalin Hyatt said. “Blessed to be in this position.”

“Not only that, just being with my family. For them to come up here and just seeing the team behind me as well is one of the biggest things that I got out of it,” Jalin Hyatt explained. “But, yeah, I was nervous. Marvin Harrison is a great receiver. I think we all know that. He has a great career ahead of him and it was a good race for it between me and him, but I’m just blessed for this opportunity to be up here in front of y’all.”

Marvin Harrison Jr. had a great season for Ohio State, but the voters felt that Jalin Hyatt was just a little bit better. Both of them will likely have great careers moving forward.

Jalin Hyatt will decide on his future next week

Right now, Jalin Hyatt needs to make a monster decision about his future. He might skip the bowl game and declare for the NFL Draft. However, he’s not ready to decide and will do so next week.

“[It’s] a lot to put into consideration. I have to talk to my family and the coaching staff. We’re still 50-50 on some things. I’ll have a decision next week for everybody. But those are two things you have to weigh in, the receiving record and just playing with the team or leaving. I’m taking into consideration hard with my family and coaches, but we’ll have a decision next week,” Jalin Hyatt said.

“You have to weigh in both options.”
