KenPom predicts the outcome of Tennessee's next five games
Tennessee is riding a three-game winning streak heading into the home stretch of the regular season, and according to KenPom.com, the Volunteers won’t slow down as the postseason winds near.
Three of Tennessee’s next five games are against top-25 KenPom rated opponents in Kentucky (3), Arkansas (22) and Auburn (8). Their next matchup on Saturday is against Auburn and over a week later the travel to Columbia to take on Missouri (130). Despite these teams ranging from 3-130 in the KenPom.com rankings, they all have one thing in common: they’re all supposed to lose to Tennessee.
Let’s go down the list in order.
Vanderbilt: Tennessee hosts their in-state rival Saturday, Feb. 12 and have an 88 percent chance to send the Commodores home with a loss. KenPom’s final score prediction has Tennessee winning 73-60.
Kentucky: Somewhat surprisingly, Tennessee is supposed to edge the No. 3-ranked Wildcats 71-70 on their home floor and has a 51% chance to beat UK on their home court. This prediction comes after their first outing, where Kentucky crushed the Volunteers at Rupp Arena 107-79, the only time they’ve allowed a team to score in the triple digits all season long.
Arkansas: The first game of this stretch that sends the Volunteers on the road, Tennessee has a 57 percent chance of taking home the win over the Razorbacks in what should be a raucous Bud Walton Arena. KenPom predicts Tennessee coming away with a 72-70 win.

Missouri: They lowest KenPom-rated team that remains on Tennessee’s regular season schedule, the Volunteers are expected to take home a 72-61 victory over Missouri and has an 81 percent chance to win. What’s most impressive about this prediction is the fact that Missouri is the home team.
Auburn: Once again, KenPom has Tennessee beating a team that is ranked higher than them — that’s what home court advantage in Thompson-Boling Arena provides, which has a capacity of 21,678, good for the fourth largest in the nation. Tennessee is predicted to take home a 71-69 win over the No. 8 Tigers and have a 57% chance of winning.
After these five, Tennessee plays two more games before SEC Tournament play begins. They’ll travel to Georgia (189) before they host Arkansas (22) to round out the season, both of which they are projected to win, per KenPom.
Their next game, which is against Vanderbilt, will tip off this Saturday at on 6 p.m. ET live on the SEC Network before hosting Kentucky at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
