Ole Miss left-handed pitcher Liam Doyle commits to Tennessee out of transfer portal

Ole Miss left-handed pitcher Liam Doyle has committed to Tennessee out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Doyle is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound sophomore who appeared in 16 games for the Rebels in 2024, making 11 starts. He led the team in strikeouts.

His commitment is the second for Tennessee out of Ole Miss, with the Volunteers also landing infielder Andrew Fischer earlier in the evening on Tuesday. Doyle and Fischer were roommates with the Rebels.

During his lone season with the Rebels, Liam Doyle posted a 2-4 record with a 6.35 ERA. He started nine games, appearing in 14.

In total, Doyle worked his way through 45.1 iinnings pitched with the Rebels, striking out 72 batters while walking only 18. Opponets hit just .240 off him on the season.

Prior to enrolling at Ole Miss, Liam Doyle spent one season at Coastal Carolina. He sported a 4.15 ERA there and racked up a 3-1 record in 56.1 innings pitched. Doyle struck out 69 in his lone season with the Chanticleers.

Tennessee lands commitment from Andrew Fischer

Ole Miss transfer infielder Andrew Fischer has committed to Tennessee, he announced on Twitter. Fischer started his career at Duke before spending this past season with the Rebels.

Fischer put together an impressive sophomore campaign in 2024, starting all 49 games in which he appeared. He finished with a .249 batting average to go with 17 home runs and 44 RBI. That came after he earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors at Duke after putting up a .289 average and 11 home runs to set the Blue Devils’ freshman record for a single season.

Fischer was a highly touted recruit from Wall Township (N.J.), where he set a single-season school record with 33 home runs and a career mark with 65 walks. He will have two years of eligibility after transferring to Tennessee.
