On300 top-50 EDGE Mariyon Dye commits to Tennessee Volunteers
Elkhart (Ind.) Central four-star EDGE Mariyon Dye has committed to Tennessee, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
He chose the Volunteers over Ohio State, Michigan, Purdue and more than 20 other reported offers.
The 6-foot-4.5, 270-pounder took official visits to each of the three aforementioned programs, but the Vols got the final visit and ultimately landed his commitment.
“The way that they treated my family when I was down there and the relationship that I have built with the coaches over the past year,” Dye told Fawcett. “Coach Chop and Coach Heupel literally call me everyday and don’t even talk to me about football. They check up on me and see how my day is going.”
His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“I’m closest to coach Chop for sure. He is like a father figure to me,” he said. “Their plan is to develop me into not just the best football player, but the best man I could be so I could get to the next level.”
Dye is the nation’s No. 164 overall prospect, No. 22 EDGE and No. 3 recruit from Indiana in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
However, On3 rates Dye higher than the other major recruiting services. He ranks No. 40 overall and No. 5 among edge rushers in the 2025 On300.
