ESPN broadcast provides update on Hendon Hooker after apparent knee injury
As Tennessee gets to the end of what should be an upset loss against South Carolina, they will have to do so without their star quarterback. Hendon Hooker went down with a non-contact injury in the fourth quarter while leaving the pocket and was not able to get up right away.
He eventually left the field as Joe Milton came in to replace Hooker.
ESPN’s Holly Rowe provided an update on Hooker as he went into the locker room. The official word thus far on the injury is a left leg one. However, Rowe said based on what she saw Tennessee putting the quarterback through, it’s “some kind of knee injury.”
“He has been ruled out, obviously, for the rest of the game,” Rowe said on the broadcast. “I’m told it’s a left leg injury but after watching him walk and watching them do an extensive examination on him, it does appear to be some kind of a knee injury.”

According to the ESPN broadcast, Hooker was able to limp off after being treated for a knee injury. Sideline reporter Holly Rowe said there was some weight being put on the leg as Hooker walked into the medical tent.
“Hendon Hooker was able to walk off the field,” Rowe said. “He was putting weight on that left leg as he very carefully walked into the injury tent. His head was down, teammates were hugging him… He was able to put weight on that left leg.”
