Tennessee announces Week 3 game vs Akron is sold out
Neyland Stadium is going to be rocking once again on Saturday when Tennessee takes on Akron. The Volunteers announced another sellout.
Tennessee athletic director Danny White made the news official on Twitter Friday afternoon, a little more than 24 hours before the Vols and Zips face off. It’s yet another sellout for the Vols, who will also play in front of a packed house when they take on Florida Sept. 24.

Tennessee is off to a 2-0 start to the season, including a victory over Pitt last week at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. However, a good amount of Vols fans made the trip and saw Hendon Hooker lead Tennessee to the 34-27 victory.
The Volunteers started the year with a resounding win over Ball State in Week 1 and will look to improve to 3-0 against Akron Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Josh Heupel sends message to Tennessee fans that traveled to Pitt to cheer on Vols
It goes without saying that Tennessee fans are fired up for what Josh Heupel has brought to the Volunteer program. They’re already frenzied over this year’s team that stands at 2-0 following their OT win at Pittsburgh last weekend.
To Heupel, it’s something that means a lot to him and everyone within the program.
Heupel spoke after the 34-27 win over the Panthers about the energy that Tennessee fans brought to that win. In a big game and one that honored a former Vol head coach, Heupel discussed what their effort to be there on the road meant to him, his staff and his players.
“For our fans that traveled here, the amount of orange that was inside of that stadium? In particular in a game that honored Coach Majors too? That was awesome to see and the players, staff, and myself appreciate the efforts that our fanbase makes,” Heupel said.
