Tennessee baseball punched its ticket to the College World Series and the athletic department proceeded to flex on the entire country with their success.

It’s been quite a school year for the Volunteers. Tennessee tweeted out a graphic with five different sports and their accomplishments.

Simply put, Tennessee said “When we say everything, we mean everything.”

“Only school since 1998 to win a BCS/NY6 Bowl, advance to men’s and women’s basketball Sweet 16, advance to Men’s and Women’s College World Series … in the same academic year,” the tweet read.

Tennessee baseball is the last hope for a national title but there’s no doubt the marquee sports of each season made an impact on the school. Heck, they made an impact nationwide.

Tennessee takes on SEC foe LSU in the College World Series and were grouped in the same bracket as Wake Forest and Stanford.

Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello spoke about what the CWS appearance meant following a 5-0 win over Southern Miss.

“Yeah, probably three things come to mind,” Vitello said postgame. “The first thing is the guy to the right of me [Drew Beam], I mentioned it in the outfield, there’s so much you want to say, but everyone is kind of acting a fool. So I just jumped in on that. But we were a little short last year from going to the World Series and it was very painful for me. It was just an epic year. But it was a weird weekend. And this guy never had the ball in his hand.

“We met as coaches today, and I told them that when we’re done, you want to know why I’m fine with it no matter what happens tonight if we got to see him throw. Then the other thing was, I wish we could have done this in Knoxville in front of our fans because it meant a lot to us. But it’s a challenge to win in the postseason; we had to go do it on the road. And no one wants to hear it, but there’s a lot of difficult circumstances this group overcame, and I’m proud of it.

Vitello and Tennessee tipped their respective caps to Southern Miss coach Scott Berry.

“And then the third thing is just coach Berry,” Vitello said. “So if it’s us, or whoever wins a national championship, we’ll throw a party in Knoxville or congrats to whoever else it is. But that’s the definition of a champion — that guy [Scott Berry]. You can ask anyone that’s played for him, anyone that’s been around him, and anyone that’s competed against them. The game has lost a good one, but he left his mark there’s no question.”
