WATCH: Tennessee trolls Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin, uses mustard bottle in home run celebration
Friday’s baseball game between Tennessee and Ole Miss caught headlines for a couple of reasons. The matchup is between two top five teams, according to the latest D1Baseball top 25. But both Ole Miss and Tennessee took hilarious shots at one another with some troll jobs before and during the game.
In this past season’s matchup between the two teams in football, Tennessee fans threw objects onto the field towards the Ole Miss sideline, even striking Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin with a golf ball. Bottles of mustard were also among the objects that found themselves on the field of play.
Kiffin threw out the first pitch on Friday night prior to the start of the game. He used a golf ball instead of a baseball. Ole Miss tweeted out a video of the first pitch, reminding everyone about the mustard that was also thrown out on the field.
Little did Ole Miss know, the famous bottle of mustard would find itself as a part of the game.
Tennessee used mustard as a prop after hitting a home run against Ole Miss
The Vols scored early and often on Friday night. Tennessee ran away with it, cruising to a 12-1 victory over Ole Miss. During a six-run top of the second inning, Tennessee outfielder Jared Dickey hit a two-run home run to right field, extending the lead to 6-0. Once Dickey reached home plate, he stomped on home plate and then joined his teammates to celebrate.
As Dickey ran back towards the Tennessee dugout, a teammate tossed him a bottle of mustard, adding to the troll-heavy day against Ole Miss.
