Tennessee DL Jayson Jenkins plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal

Tennessee DL Jayson Jenkins plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported his intention to do so per his representation in a tweet on Monday.
“Tennessee redshirt sophomore DL Jayson Jenkins intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per @APSportsAgency,” Thamel wrote.
Jenkins had spent the past three seasons as a redshirt sophomore on Rocky Top. In that time, he appeared in 20 games with the most of his career this past fall with 13.
While a Volunteers, Jenkins posted 15 tackles, a pair of sacks, and a forced fumble.
Jenkins, a native of Trenton, New Jersey, played high school football at Notre Dame. He was the No. 1,066 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in the 2022 cycle. He also rated as a Top-25 player in the state and a Top-125 DL in the class. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
