When he came to Tennessee, Vescovi was a three-star recruit, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the 22nd-rated point guard in the 2019 class.
When Vescovi entered the draft process, he was encouraged to do so by Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes. Now he returns to school for at least one more season with more knowledge on what he needs to do to improve his stock in the future.
“Thank you to everyone who supported our team this season. This year’s team was very special, and playing alongside this group of teammates made my love for the game grow even stronger,” Vescovi wrote in an Instagram post. “Coach Barnes has encouraged me to go through the NBA Draft process, and I intend to take advantage of that opportunity while maintaining my collegiate eligibility. I know I have the full support of Vol Nation, and I look forward to the valuable experience and feedback I’ll receive in the weeks to come.”
