Tennessee OT Gerald Mincey enters NCAA transfer portal
Tennessee offensive tackle Gerald Mincey has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Mincey played high school football at Cardinal Gibbons (FL) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 689 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
He was the No. 67 OT in his class and No. 94 player in the state of Florida. He was recruited by Miami, Florida State and Georgia, among others out of the preps ranks. He originally played football for the Florida Gators.
Mincey was cited on a simple possession charge and was arrested after being found in possession of a controlled substance. He was put on a snap count following the incident by head coach Josh Heupel, but was still able to find himself on the field after the incident. He played left tackle for the Vols while he was on the roster.
