Tennessee QB Gaston Moore has entered the NCAA transfer portal. On3’s Pete Nakos reported the news on Thursday morning.

Moore, the fifth-year as a redshirt senior quarterback, has spent the past four years at Tennessee following one as a freshman at UCF. He followed Josh Heupel from Orlando to Knoxville upon his hire by the Volunteers and had been there ever since as a backup.

While as a reserve on Rocky Top, Moore had appeared in 14 games, including a career-high this fall with six games played in. In his opportunities off the sideline, Moore is 26-44 (59.1%) for 273 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. That includes being 16-27 (59.3%) this past season for 201 yards with a pair of touchdowns and picks apiece.

Now, Moore is one of thirteen to enter the portal during this cycle for the Volunteers. That comes with the news of the entry of TE Charlie Browder also coming around the same time this morning. With that, they join LB Jalen Smith, CB Jordan Matthews, IOL Vysen Lang, DB Christian Harrison, DL Jayson Jenkins, and RBs Khalifa Keith and Cameron Seldon along with four wide receivers in Kaleb Webb, Chas Nimrod, Nathan Leacock, and Nate Spillman. Three of those have already committed elsewhere in Smith (Mississippi State), Matthews (Vanderbilt), and Webb (Maryland).

Moore and Browder are also among the players who have entered since the end of Tennessee’s season in Columbus in the College Football Playoff. Moore has never started in his collegiate career behind names like Hendon Hooker, Joe Milton, and Nico Iamaleava. He’ll now have his chance to do so upon the commitment to his third school ahead of his final year of eligibility.
