The battle continues for the Tennessee Volunteers in their quest for an undefeated season, SEC championship game berth, and a ticket into the College Football Playoff. This Saturday marks arguably the toughest matchup for the Volunteers this season as they travel down to Athens, Georgia, to take on their heated SEC East rivals, the Georgia Bulldogs.

A game of this magnitude does not need much to get fans pumped up for it. But in case there are any Tennessee fans who have yet to get hyped for the game, please enjoy the video below.

The Volunteers’ offense has been a nightmare for opposing defenses to slow down, much less stop. Tennessee has the number one scoring offense in the country and leads the nation and points per game at 49.4. there’s been a lot of noise about their rival Georgia’s defense. But the Bulldogs have not seen an offense this dangerous and explosive, led by Heisman Trophy frontrunner quarterback Hendon Hooker. And on Saturday, Tennessee will continue their fight and show Georgia and the rest of the college football world why they should fear this Volunteers offense.

Tennessee at Georgia: How Kirby Smart has fared against high-scoring offenses

Something has to give between the hedges Saturday at Sanford Stadium in Athens. Forget the College Football Playoff rankings or the Associated Press Top 25. Instead, it’s Tennessee’s No. 1 scoring offense lining up across from Georgia’s No. 2 scoring defense.

Under head coach Kirby Smart, who took over at Georgia in 2016, the Bulldogs are 1-9 when the opponent scores at least 30 points. Smart has lost just 15 games in his six-plus seasons.

On the flip side, second-year Tennessee coach Josh Heupel’s offense has scored at least 30 points in 11 straight games, the longest active streak in college football and a new program record for the Vols.

Georgia has allowed just seven touchdowns and 12 field goals through eight games, giving up just 10.5 points on average. Kent State scored 22 points in Athens on September 24 and Missouri scored 24 more at home against Georgia a week later.

Florida scored 20 points on Georgia last week. The Bulldogs shut out Vanderbilt and Samford, gave up only three points against Oregon to open the season on September 3, then just seven at South Carolina on September 17.
