Tennessee running back Khalifa Keith announces plan to enter Transfer Portal
Tennessee Volunteers running back Khalifa Keith has announced his plan to enter the Transfer Portal on social media.
Khalifa Keith played his high school football at Parker in Alabama. There, he was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the 38th-ranked running back in the class and the 547th-ranked recruit overall in that cycle.
“Thank you Tennessee,” Khalifa Keith wrote. “I’m forever grateful and beyond blessed for the opportunity you’ve given me to call myself a Vol. After much consideration I would like to announce I will be entering the Transfer Portal on Dec 9 with three year of eligibility left.”
“This has been a difficult decision but I feel it’s the right one in order for me to continue chasing my athletic and academic goals. I’m blessed to have met and built life long relationships with my brothers and coaches that would last a lifetime. I’m excited to see where my journey goes from here. This is to everyone who has been a part of the journey this far.”

In two seasons with Tennessee, Keith played in 16 total games. He’s rushed for 124 yards on 32 carries, for an average of 3.9 yards per attempt. He also has a rushing touchdown. He only played in four games during the 2024 season.
This season, the Tennessee running back room was led by Dylan Sampson who had 1,485 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns this season. Three other Volunteers running backs, DeSean Bishop, Peyton Lewis, and Cameron Seldon all outrushed Khalifa Keith over the course of the regular season.
Khalifa Keith has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
This comes as the Tennessee Volunteers are awaiting a likely bid in the College Football Playoff this season. The Volunteers went 10-2 but missed out on the SEC Championship Game thanks to losing the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Georgia Bulldogs.
