Charlotte (N.C.) North Mecklenburg four-star defensive lineman Charles House has been one of Tennessee’s top defensive line targets in the 2025 class for some time.

The Vols, along with Georgia and Alabama, have all hosted him for official visits this summer. And those three programs have been considered his top three schools heading into those trips.

Coming out of his visit to Rocky Top over the weekend though, Tennessee is the one trending in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). That follows an expert prediction from On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, who logged his pick on Thursday.

“It felt like home,” House told Volquest.com of his trip. “I really connected well with the players while I was here. I had a great time.”

Tennessee has been a top school for the 6-foot-3, 300-pounder, and they continue to make him feel like a top priority.

“The way the keep presenting themselves to me is better and better every time we come. It’s going to be hard decision when it comes down to those schools. Tennessee showed me a lot,” House said.

He added that Georgia and Tennessee were fighting for the top spot in his recruitment with the Crimson Tide close behind. House is expected to announce his commitment on Saturday, June 22.

House broke down his top schools before official visits

In an interview with On3’s Chad Simmons last month, House talked about what made each of his top three schools stand out:

Alabama: “I haven’t visited Alabama yet, so I just want to get on the campus, see what it is like and be around the people. I have talked to the coaches on the phone, we have done Zoom calls and I like what I know about them, so I just want to get over there. The fit for me is important too because I want to feel comfortable around the people. Coach Freddie Roach has been great with me, so I am excited to spend time with him soon.”

Georgia: “I was at Georgia in the spring and they have a high standard. It was great to see them in the spring and they go hard. They go full speed every day, they breathe football and they compete. Coach Tray Scott is a great guy who is putting guys in the NFL and he is coming after me hard too. I like what he and Georgia are about.”

Tennessee: “Tennessee has been very consistent, I know a lot of their coaches and they show me love and make me feel wanted. The biggest thing about Tennessee is how they recruit me. They make me feel very important and Tennessee is the team to beat for me. What gives the edge is how I feel on campus. It is a great feeling.”

House is the No. 284 overall prospect and No. 24 defensive lineman nationally, according to the On300 rankings.
