The Tennessee Volunteers baseball team has dominated all season long and destroyed anything and everything in their path. Not only have they been the top-ranked team in America for much of the 2021-2022 college baseball season, but they also reeled in their first SEC regular season crown since 1995.

Check it out below as they showed off their new hardware on Thursday night at the SEC Tournament.

Simply put, it’s been a record-shattering season full of spectacular plays and epic beatdowns. Tennessee recently throttled Misssissippi State by a historic score of 27-2. The 27 runs allowed in that game were the most allowed by Mississippi State in an SEC game since 1943.

Tennessee already shattered their program record for the most homeruns in a single season earlier this year. Senior infielder Trey Lipscomb made history of his own recently against the Georgia Bulldogs. He became the first Tennessee player since 2009 to blast 20 home runs in a season.

The top-seeded Tennessee Volunteers are currently facing off against the No. 8 seed Vanderbilt Commodores in the second round of the 2022 SEC Tournament. Tennessee currently leads 1-0 in the top of the second inning. The game is currently being televised on the SEC Network.

Tennessee is a top-four overall seed in the SEC Tournament for just the second time since 2005. The Volunteers have reeled in numerous accolades this season, including head coach Tony Vitello earning SEC Coach of the Year honors, Chase Dollander earned SEC Pitcher of the Year honors, and freshman Drew Beam earned Freshman of the Year honors in the conference. Trey Lipscomb, Drew Gilbert, and Chase Dollander were the Tennessee trio of players that landed on the All-SEC first team. Drew Beam and Chase Burns also earned All-SEC second team honors for the Vols.
