Game 3 of the Southern Miss vs. Tennessee Super Regional is coming up at 6 p.m. ET down in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Of course, the two teams split the first and second games to bring us to this point, with the Volunteers taking Sunday’s matchup by an 8-4 score while the Golden Eagles nabbed the opener 5-3.

Ahead of Monday’s rubber match with a trip to Omaha on the line, the folks over at Draft Kings have released the betting line — and let’s just say: they ain’t putting too much faith in the hosts.

That’s right, we have a home dog in Game 3 of a Super Regional. Despite playing in their own backyard, Southern Miss opened up as a 1.5-run underdog and is +160 straight up to win the game and advance to the College World Series. On the other hand, Tennessee is a 1.5-run favorite and has a hefty -195 moneyline.

It’s not a massive line, but the folks out in Las Vegas didn’t make this a coin-flip spread. No, they believe the Vols are coming home from Southern Miss with another notch on their CWS belt.

Additionally, the current over-under is set at just 10.5 with the projected score sitting in the ballpark of a 6-5 or 6-4 victory in favor of the visitors. It’s not a terribly high O/U line, especially considering that neither team will be throwing their premier arms in all likelihood.

As for these teams’ future prospects if they were to move on, well, Southern Miss is currently the longest shot remaining to win it all. Now, most of the Super Regional Series are already over and their competition in the odds books are teams that don’t still have to win another game, so really their odds will be cut in half if they’re able to advance.

Anyway, Southern Miss is currently sitting at +3000 (or 30-1) to win it all, while Tennessee is twice as likely at +1500 (15-1).

So there you have it. Venture on over to Draft Kings or whatever your preferred wagering location is and sprinkle some cash on the Vols if you’re feeling confident in this talented UT squad, or let Vegas know they’re out of their minds and throw some dough on the home team in a do-or-die game, which is typically a remarkably tough game for a visiting team to win. But hey, Jimmy Butler showed us otherwise in the TD Garden a few weeks ago, so why can’t Tony Vitello’s club do the same?

Vols vs. Eagles this evening for all the marbles.
