Texas-based CB Colin Brazzell commits to the Tennessee Vols
After a breakout senior season and a riveting finish toward the finish line of his recruitment, Colin Brazzell‘s recruitment has come to an end.
Brazzell, a talented 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback out of West Texas, committed to the Tennessee Vols on Thursday. Purdue, Tulane and Colorado were heavily in the mix with the three-star standout from Midland (Texas) Legacy High School for the past few months.
Josh Heupel and the Volunteers came in late to sweep Brazzell and his family off their feet in recent weeks. Tennessee is set to add Brazzells on both sides of the ball heading into the 2024 season.
“It feels great getting an opportunity to play on the same field as my brother and being able to guard him during practice,” Brazzell told On3. “Playing in the SEC is really going to test my skill-set, and having two brothers on the same team is a blessing.”
Several coaches made strong connections with Brazzell over the course of his recruitment. He camped in Purdue and was pursued heavily by Deion Sanders.

Tennessee’s staff took it a step further, emphasizing the chance to play and also develop in Knoxville.
“I want to thank every school that believed in me, but at Tennessee, I feel like I could become a better corner and I could be with my brother,” Brazzell, the No. 111 CB in the nation, said. “I feel as if they can really develop me into what I’m not yet.”
Vols assistants like Willie Martinez and Kelsey Pope also made strong impressions on Brazzell in the past few weeks.
“The coaches made it feel really like home, and the one thing that I can respect from this whole process is that everything is earned and not given,” Brazzell noted. “I know that they believe in me and it’s time to show them and everyone else what I can be.”
Brazzell is the No. 141 player in the state of Texas for the 2024 recruiting class.
