WATCH: Tennessee 5-star QB commit Nico Iamaleava records multiple long touchdown throws
Long Beach (Calif.) Warren five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava has separated himself as one of the top signal-callers in the 2023 cycle. The Tennessee commit showcased why against Downey (Calif.) on Friday night by throwing numerous long touchdowns.
Iamaleava started off fast by firing a 74-yard touchdown pass. He then added another touchdown, which was set up by his stellar deep ball.
The 6-foot-5.5, 195 pound signal-caller then added another score on a downfield shot to the right side of the field. Two of Iamaleava’s touchdowns were caught by four-star wide receiver Jordan Ross, the No. 134 overall prospect in the 2024 On300.
Iamaleava is the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in California.
