4-star IOL Chase Bisontis commits to Texas A&M
Following his official visits last month, Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep four-star interior offensive lineman Chase Bisontis took multiple Zoom calls and FaceTimes with the coaches that were recruiting him. Those conversations gave him a lot to think about. But by the end of them, he knew Texas A&M was the right choice for him.
Bisontis came to this realization last week. He officially announced the news on Sunday, choosing Texas A&M over Michigan State and Rutgers.
“I just felt like it was the best spot for me,” Bisontis told On3 about Texas A&M. “That was probably my favorite official. A lot of people speak about when you really feel that moment in your heart. On that official, I felt it.”
The 6-foot-4.5, 315 pound blocker enjoyed all of his official visits, but the trip to College Station stood out. He enjoyed Texas A&M’s “top notch” campus, dorms and facilities. Bisontis also developed strong relationships with the Aggies’ players, including interior offensive lineman Layden Robinson, who hosted Bisontis during his June 3 official.
Texas A&M finished 8-4 last year and upset top-ranked Alabama during the regular season. Bisontis believes the program will climb to greater heights in the future.
“I feel we can win a national championship,” said Bisontis, the No. 60 overall prospect and No. 4 interior offensive lineman in the 2023 On3 Consensus. “I feel like (head) coach Jimbo Fisher is doing everything the right way. I think it’s gonna be a great next four-to-five years.”
Bond with OL coach Steve Addazio made a difference for Bisontis
One of the most important things for Bisontis throughout his recruitment was relationships. He built a connection with Texas A&M offensive line coach Josh Henson, but Henson left to join Lincoln Riley at USC.
His replacement was Steve Addazio, a former head coach at Boston College, Colorado State and Temple. According to Bisontis, “everything started to pick up” once Addazio arrived in College Station.

The two immediately bonded over being from the Northeast. Additionally, many players from Bisontis’ high school went to Boston College when Addazio was coaching there.
“I had a lot of people I could talk to and I asked a bunch of questions about him,” said Bisontis, adding that his current relationship with Addazio is “second to none”. “Everyone came back with good feedback.”
Bisontis is excited to play with and face top competition
The four-star recruit had offers from every Power Five conference, plus Notre Dame. But Bisontis wanted to play against the top players and teams in the country, so he chose a program in the SEC.
He feels like Texas A&M will provide him with multiple opportunities to develop and clash against some of the best athletes in college football.
“I think the SEC is the best (conference) in football,” Bisontis said. “The Big Ten is close. I think they’re second. But I feel like to every week play a schedule like Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, I feel like that’s what I want to do. Compete against the best. And Texas A&M will have the best players, so it’s only gonna make me better.”
