4-star OT Jonte Newman commits to Texas A&M Aggies
Cypress (Texas) Bridgeland four-star offensive tackle Jonte Newman has committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, he announced Friday evening.
“I loved everything about A&M,” Newman told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “They always show me mad love all the coaches make me feel special every time I’m there.”
Newman visited College Station last weekend.
Newman is the nation’s No. 359 overall prospect, No. 28 offensive tackle and No. 59 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
April 14 was a good day for Texas A&M, picking up Corona (Calif.) Centennial four-star quarterback Husan Longstreet and Denton (Texas) Ryan four-star IOL Marcus Garcia. Seven of the Aggies’ nine commits are blue-chips — including Katy (Texas) Paetow four-star cornerback Deyjhon Pettaway, DeSoto (Texas) four-star running back Deondrae Riden and Forney (Texas) four-star linebacker Kelvion Riggins.

Prosper (Texas) three-star interior offensive lineman Connor Carty committed just Thursday.
“I think that they are moving that program in the right direction for sure!” Carty said in February. “I’m a fan of their goals and expectations for sure! It was great getting meet everyone and seeing A&M from a new perspective compared to the last staff. Coach Elko is great! I believe he has the tools to be successful in the SEC. I like that Coach Elko is very humble and down to earth. It has been very easy to approach him and have conversations with him.
“Coach Cushing seems very passionate and caring about his players and recruits. I think he is a great fit for the new role at A&M and will do a great job with the offensive line.”
