Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher provided some significant injury updates for the Aggies on Monday, announcing one key readdition and the loss of two more starting offensive linemen for the year.

Quarterback Haynes King will be back this weekend, while starting center Bryce Foster and starting left guard Aki Ogunbiyi are now out for the year due to injury.

King was injured late in the game against South Carolina over the weekend, appearing to tend to his shoulder. He was replaced by true freshman Conner Weigman in the game and did not return, but the sophomore quarterback should be back in action this weekend against No. 15 Ole Miss after the brief injury scare.

Foster and Ogunbiyi were injured during the loss to Alabama on Oct. 8 and did not play against South Carolina. According to reports from On3’s Marshall Levenson and AggieScoop’s Tim Verghese, both will be out for the season.

Already starting offensive lineman Jordan Spasojevic-Moko had been lost after undergoing surgery earlier in the month.

Aggies’ injury updates indicate further hazards for QBs

Texas A&M has had a bit of a revolving door at quarterback this season, with three different passers getting work at various points.

King started the season before he was benched in favor of LSU transfer Max Johnson prior to the Miami game on Sept. 17. Johnson started three games before suffering a broken bone in his hand against Mississippi State on Oct. 1.

That thrust King back into the starting lineup.

King has gone 81-of-142 passing (57.0%) for 941 yards and six touchdowns this season. He has also thrown six interceptions. Johnson had logged a 43-of-71 passing (60.6%) stat line, posting 517 passing yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Now King will have to try to steady the ship again working behind a severely depleted offensive line.

Texas A&M currently ranks No. 87 nationally in passing offense, No. 105 in rushing offense, No. 108 in total offense and No. 109 in scoring offense.
