The Field of 64 for the NCAA Baseball Tournament is set and, with that, so are all of the Regional matchups. Along with that, the betting odds have also been released for the NCAA Tournament. That includes the College Station Regional, which will be hosted by Texas A&M and could prove to be one of the most interesting Regionals in the tournament.

Texas A&M earned the third overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, which means they’re in line to host a Super Regional if they can advance. Making their way to Omaha to try and stop the Aggies from advancing are three tough teams, Louisiana, Texas, and Grambling. In particular, the Longhorns are going to add a layer of in-state intrigue to the College Station Regional.

Texas A&M -140
Texas +250
Louisiana +370
Grambling +10000

It probably shouldn’t be a surprise that the Aggies are the favorite to win the Regional they’re hosting. After all, it’s been a phenomenal season for Texas A&M, going 44-13 during the 2024 season.

Jim Schlossnagle opens up about Texas A&M’s recent offensive struggles

Despite all of the success Texas A&M has had this season, the Aggies struggled on offense late in the year. In fact, in Texas A&M’s last eight games, the Aggies only scored more than four runs on two different occasions.

With that in mind, head coach Jim Schlossnagle recently opened up about Texas A&M’s recent offensive struggles.

“I mean we won two out of three against Arkansas, they’re pretty good. But yeah, I think offensively I mean they they call it an average for a reason, right? That’s the way I’m thinking is that I think our best days are hopefully coming this next inning or certainly coming maybe in the regional. But we’ve hit some balls hard, we’ve had some games where we bunched hits, we just haven’t scored as many runs as we would like and we’ve also played some good teams. I think you just remind them who they are. I just told Jace [LaViolette], man you’re one of the best players in the country. When [Ted Burton] steps in there, it looks like he’s hitting .9000, at least that’s the way I feel. He’s got great presence and energy,” Schlossnagle said.

“And Jace, these guys, they care a lot, right? And they care a lot for A&M, they care a lot for their teammates and so when they don’t succeed then they feel like sometimes they let people down versus just it’s the game and it’s hard. But part of the magic of our club is the three guys after the first three, and when the superstars aren’t going, those three older guys normally can pick them up. And right now we’re just in a little bit of a lull I guess, I don’t know.”
