BREAKING: Elite CB Bravion Rogers commits to Texas A&M

Well that didn’t take long.

Just a few weeks after 2023 La Grange (Tex.) High four-star cornerback Bravion Rogers decommitted from Texas A&M, the No. 4 cornerback in the country is back in the Aggies’ class.

“It just felt like home, and I would not want to go anywhere else really,” Rogers told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “I have a great relationship with coach Rushing and Jimbo (Fisher). They are just going to keep it real with you and they are cool guys to be around.”

The four-star initially decommitted after schools like LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Miami and more maintained communication. He had a plan to take all five of his official visits, explore other options and make a decision in December. Instead, after just a few weeks of talking to other schools, the top-50 prospect is back in the Aggies’ class.

Rogers visited College Station three weekends in a row after decommitting, twice to see friends in the area and once, this past weekend, to see the Aggies in action against Sam Houston State.

“It hasnt changed,” Rogers said of his relationship with Texas A&M. “It’s still family. Coach Cro and Coach Rushing, I just talked to them and they told me it’s gonna be like that no matter what and to keep in contact … It’s not different, it’s just about getting me up there and talking to coaches every day.”

When Rogers first committed back in the spring, he did so just two weeks after landing an offer from the Aggies.

“I mean it was one of my favorite schools,” he said. “So whenever they offered me I knew I wanted to go there.” 

Rogers has kept an eye on Texas A&M’s recruiting prowess and the opportunity to play behind the defensive linemen the Aggies’ recruited in the 2022 cycle stood out to him. 

“All the players that are coming in, like the whole d-line,” he said of what made Texas A&M stand out. “And then hopefully like the next three-four years, [the opportunity to] get a natty [national championship].”

As a junior, Rogers rushed for over 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns, adding 336 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver. Defensively, he recorded 27 tackles, six passes defended, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown. 

He is the ninth-ranked prospect from Texas after Allen (Texas) five-star defensive lineman David Hicks, Texas A&M five-star linebacker commit Anthony Hill, Oklahoma five-star quarterback commit Jackson Arnold, Louisville five-star running back commit Rueben Owens, Notre Dame five-star safety commit Peyton Bowen, Arlington (Texas) Martin four-star cornerback Javien Toviano, Texas four-star cornerback commit Malik Muhammad and Texas four-star wide receiver commit Johntay Cook. 

Rogers ranks as the No. 49 prospect and No. 5 cornerback in the country per the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $170k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
