BREAKING: Four-Star QB Marcel Reed commits to Texas A&M
Four-star quarterback Marcel Reed of Nashville (TN) Montgomery Bell Academy announced his commitment to Texas A&M Monday night.
The 6-foot-2, 180 pounder had been committed to the Rebels since April. Reed announced his decommitment just one hour before pledging to the Aggies.
Reed spoke to On3’s Chad Simmons on his decision to commit to the Aggies.
“It was a pretty tough decision,” Reed told On3. “I was committed to Ole Miss and I loved it there. Loved the coaches, loved the fans, loved the atmosphere every time I was up there. It was just it was hard to make because things just happened so fast in such a small amount of time. It’s hard to make a decision like that when you have seen stuff for so long and you go see another place for like a few days. It was a pretty tough decision but me and my family talked about it, and I felt comfortable with it so I pulled the trigger.”

Reed is the No. 318 overall prospect and No. 18 quarterback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 7 player in Tennessee.
Reed has an On3 NIL Valuation of $66K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
