Texas A&M fans, you’re stuck with Jimbo Fisher for a while thanks to the $86 million buyout currently on his contract. So, Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman gave some context into what’s going on inside the program and how Fisher could help his case to keep his job long term.

“You can start with the issues that Jimbo Fisher is having offensively. He’s always been the play caller, and there’s a lot of concern that the system he’s running is too complicated for a lot of the players there,” Feldman said on Big Nook Kickoff. “They feel like he may be better served to hire an offensive coordinator that takes over play calling because nobody is on the same page there.”

Feldman addressed the suspensions of true freshmen cornerback Denver Harris, wide receiver Chris Marshall and offensive lineman PJ Williams after a locker room incident, and how even at Florida State there were accountability issues as well.

With the Aggies’ season long gone off the rails compared to their preseason rankings, they can still salvage a bowl berth starting with a victory over No. 15 Ole Miss Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET live on the SEC Network.

ESPN broadcaster says Jimbo Fisher ‘bailed’ on production meeting

Plenty of eyes are going to be on Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M this week as the Aggies try to put a halt to their three-game losing streak. The game is going to be on the SEC Network, and the broadcast team of Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers and Cole Cubelic was planning to meet with Jimbo Fisher for their regular production meeting on Friday.

But Fisher “bailed,” Hart said on The Paul Finebaum Show on Friday. He said the crew met with some of the coaches, but Fisher wasn’t available.

“We were over there meeting with a couple of the coaches, but we did not have the opportunity to meet with Jimbo,” Hart said. “He bailed on that chance, so we did not get a chance to ask the head coach about the upcoming suspensions.”
