Bryce Anderson not in NCAA transfer portal, social media hacked
There’s some controversy out of College Station as one of Texas A&M’s football players, defensive back Bryce Anderson, is claiming his Twitter account was hacked after it released a tweet saying Anderson was entering the transfer portal.
Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. CT, a tweet from Anderson’s account was published, reading: “I will be entering the transfer portal.”
With the portal opening up to college football players this week, the tweet appeared normal and shared the news of Anderson transferring away from A&M. However, shortly after the tweet was sent out, Anderson used his Instagram account to let fans know that the tweet was false and his account was hacked; meanwhile, he IS NOT in the transfer portal. Here was that screen-grab:
So, Bryce Anderson says he is not in the transfer portal right now, despite a tweet from his own Twitter account declaring that he was transferring. New Aggies coach Mike Elko will be on his knees begging that Anderson’s Instagram account is telling the truth, because the sophomore safety was a menace in the secondary this season.
Anderson posted career highs in practically every statistical category possible for a defensive back, totaling 46 tackles, 7.0 for a loss, along with 1.5 sacks. In pass defense, he picked off one pass and deflected four others. That’s a possible star in the back end of the A&m defense next fall.
