Texas A&M could have not started worse against Arkansas on Tuesday. At one point, the Aggies were down 20 points in the first half and were seemingly trending toward a 1-2 start in the SEC. And after preseason expectations were high for Buzz Williams, people in College Station were expecting more.

Williams said “Not so fast my friend” and decided to switch up his team’s mojo at halftime. After originally wearing a nice suit, Williams came back wearing something a bit more comfortable. Almost everything about the head coach’s outfit was different, even the glasses he was wearing.

And while the game is still going on, Texas A&M is back in the game. Arkansas has struggled to score in the second half, leaving the door open. After looking like it would be a quick one from Bud Walton Arena, the Aggies have life.

Just for the fun of it, we’re going to credit Williams and his changing of clothes.

Making an outfit change is usually a move you would see from a fan. Everyone has their specific superstitions and while many know it’s not true, making the switch can change momentum at times.

Williams is just like the rest of us, trying to bring something new to the table for his team. Whether he is in the suit or wearing the sweater, the Texas A&M head coach still looks stylish on the sideline — no matter how his team is performing on the court.

Buzz Williams, Texas A&M looking to avoid 1-3 start to SEC play

Texas A&M was predicted to finish second in the SEC this season, only falling behind Tennessee is the preseason media poll. After a great regular season in 21-22, Williams was bringing back a lot of key players and everyone thought the Aggies would take off.

Well, if they cannot find a way to come back and take down Arkansas, Texas A&M would be well behind the pace at 1-3 in the SEC. The season would not be over perse, but it would be a tough mountain to climb in order to win a regular season conference championship.

Hopefully, the outfit change works for Williams. Probably more importantly, Texas A&M will need to start seeing a few more shots go through the hoop. Even when second-chance efforts are presented, they have not been able to cash in. One of the team’s stars — like Wade Taylor — will need to take over at some point.
