During Texas A&M’s loss at Mississippi State, Tyrece Radford’s 10-game streak of scoring double figures came to an end. With that said, Buzz Williams thinks only now do they finally appreciate just how good he has been.

Williams said the Aggies undoubtedly take Radford for granted during his press conference on Monday. However, he thinks they’ve taken a lot of what they’ve accomplished for granted only because, as individuals and as a team, they’ve been unbelievably consistent across the board.

“I don’t think there’s any question that we take him for granted. I’m a little on edge whenever somebody says anything about him…because what becomes familiar becomes for granted,” Williams said. “Do you understand we didn’t lose a game in the month of February? Nobody said that to you did they? That was the first time we’d lost in February and nobody was saying that.”

“So I think that we take for granted sometimes the players. I think we take for granted the ride that we’ve been on,” said Williams. “Over time, you just start to take for granted the accountability and the predictability. So I anticipate he’ll be more than fine because he always has been.”

Radford is number two in scoring for the Aggies and is Top-20 in the SEC at 13 points per game. In his 29 appearances this season, he has finished in double-figures in 20 of them. That included his month-long stretch from A&M’s game at Kentucky to at home against Tennessee where he finished with 10-plus points.

Although he only scored four points from the free-throw line, Radford still impacted the game in Starkville with seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. That’s why, paired with his usual consistency, Williams believes Radford will bounce back well during their next game at Ole Miss tonight.
