On300 CB Cobey Sellers commits to Texas A&M
Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek On300 cornerback Cobey Sellers announced his commitment to Texas A&M on Saturday.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Sellers chose to play for head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies over his other finalists in Oklahoma, LSU, Georgia, Oregon and Texas.
“I feel like it was right for me because Coach (Jordan) Peterson, Coach Elko and Coach (Jay) Bateman all come from DB backgrounds and I feel they’re the best developers in the game right now,” Sellers explained. “I feel to get to the NFL I have to go through them.”
Sellers took a couple spring visits to Texas A&M and the Aggies surged into the lead following those experiences.
“I feel like coming in Coach Elko is doing a good job of establishing a culture and recruiting players that not only benefit A&M on the field but off the field,” Sellers said. “That’s a big thing in having a successful program.”
