Elite 2024 offensive tackle Weston Davis of Beaumont (TX) United High announced his commitment to Texas A&M Monday night.
The 6-foot-5, 280 pounder chose the Aggies over LSU and Alabama.
Davis on why he chose Texas A&M
“The environment and the coaching staff,” Davis said. “I like how it’s lot of doors that open when you graduate from there.”
Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him
“Coach BGA and coach Steve taking me and developing me and showing them how to be a man in life.”
Weston Davis Scouting Summary
“Light-footed, flexible offensive tackle with one of the higher developmental upsides among offensive linemen in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at close to 6-foot-5, 265 pounds in the spring prior to his senior year. Has plus length for the position with 34-inch arms. Was a basketball-first athlete prior to taking up football in high school. Still relatively new to the game, but has shown considerable upside. Has high-end movement skills. Easily works to the second level as a run blocker and has burst and bounce in his movements. Shows budding physicality as a run blocker and works to finish blocks. Has the natural skill set to develop into a gifted pass protector. Will need time to gain strength and mass along with honing his technique. Should benefit from a redshirt year and time in a college strength program. Doubles as a contributor on Beaumont United’s nationally-ranked basketball team.”
The Lone Star State offensive tackle joins coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies’ top 15 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, four-star safety Jordan Pride, and others.
