As recruits around the country hit the road to visit various college football powerhouses this weekend, one of the nation’s premier offensive tackles will be in College Station, Texas.

Denton (Texas) Ryan 2025 four-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood posted to social media that he will be visiting Texas A&M.

Haywood is the nation’s No. 28 overall prospect and No. 5 offensive tackle in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 recruit in Texas.

On3 ranks Haywood higher than the other three major recruiting services. He is the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 3 offensive tackle in the 2025 On300.

Haywood recently visited Texas for its large junior day event and attended the Oklahoma-Texas game this fall.

“The last game I went to was the Texas-OU game, and they played a pretty good game – both sides. But OU came out with the victory, most definitely,” Haywood told SoonerScoop.

“When I went to the Texas-OU game, me and my friends were talking about it, ‘Can we play in this, like how loud this is?’. When I’m on the field I don’t listen, I silence everything. I listen to the play, the snap count, I ask my center if he can get louder.”

Ty Haywood Scouting Summary

“Explosive, powerful offensive tackle with high-end traits for the position. Measured in at around 6-foot-5, 280 pounds prior to his junior season. Owns plus length and projects as a tackle long-term. Shows encouraging movement skills in the camp setting. Doubles as a standout in track and field with a stellar 54-6.75 shot put throw as a sophomore. Transfers those physical attributes over to the field in a functional way. Works at left tackle for Denton Ryan, one of the top talent-producing high school programs in North Texas. Flashes very strong hands, stunning defensive linemen with his initial punch. Has strong grip strength and maintains his blocks. A bully in the run game. Shows good reactive quickness with moving laterally. Plays with a sturdy base and shows the ability to anchor on contact. Will need to continue honing his pass set technique and moving his feet once engaged.”
