Wade Taylor diced up the Arkansas defense for the second time this season during Texas A&M‘s 62-56 win over the Razorbacks Wednesday night. Taylor notched 18 points, four assists and two steals en route to leading the Aggies to a huge win at home.
Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman praised Taylor’s scoring abilities after the game, giving him credit where credit is due.
“I think he [scored] 18 or 19 in Bud Walton,” Musselman said after the loss. “He’s one of the best-scoring guards in the league. He’s quick. He’s one of the best free-throw attempt players in the country. He got five FTAs, which is a pretty good number, but not anything that killed us. His 3-for-5 from 3 really hurt us.”
Taylor has been stuffing the stat sheet as of late, scoring at least 14 points in six of the last seven games, including 18 twice against the Razorbacks. His 15.3 points per game ranks No. 7 in the SEC this season have helped lead the Aggies to wins in 13 of their last 15 games. One of those losses were to Arkansas in Bud Walton Arena.

Still, the Aggies’ winning ways have catapulted them up the SEC rankings and trail No. 1 Alabama by just one game with only a couple weeks remaining before the SEC Tournament.
That’s the spot Arkansas envisioned themselves in this season after securing a recruiting class with three McDonald’s All-Americans. The Razorbacks were expected to be at the top of the conference standings this year, but instead they sit in ninth place in the SEC with a 6-7 overall record.
The Razorbacks are well within the NCAA Tournament bubble despite their SEC struggles and currently hold a nine-seed in the latest edition of Bracketology. Texas A&M was a 10-seed in the latest projections before taking down the Hogs.
