LOOK: Evan Stewart wearing walking boot while watching 7-on-7 tournament
Texas A&M star wide receiver Evan Stewart is wearing a walking boot after injuring his ankle/foot during spring training.
The extent of his ailment is unknown, but Stewart’s injury is likely going to keep the sophomore out of Texas A&M’s spring game on April 15, as the Aggies’ coaching staff won’t want to risk a reaggravation ahead of what they feel is going to be a breakout season for the former five-star recruit.
Stewart led the Aggies in receiving yards with 649 and also had two receiving touchdowns, tied for third-most on the team. His efforts earned him a spot on the 2022 Freshman All-American team.
Stewart was also photographed with 2024 three-star wide receiver recruit Ernest Campbell, which depicted Stewart in a walking boot and crutches. The boot-crutch combination suggests a fairly serious ailment, but with no official word coming out of Texas A&M on the matter, the best-case scenario is that Stewart could be back on the field before the start of fall camp.
The Aggies will hope to have Stewart back on the field as soon as possible, as he’s expected to not only lead the team’s receiving efforts but also begin to transition into a leadership role on and off the field for Texas A&M.
Before arriving in College Station one year ago, Stewart was a Five Star Plus+ wideout prospect out of Frisco, TX. He was rated the No. 8 player and No. 2 wide receiver overall, according to the 2022 On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Since joining the collegiate ranks, Stewart has upped his social media presence. Take his football talent into consideration, too, and it’s no wonder Stewart has the No. 18 highest NIL valuation in college football.
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.
About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value
Stewart’s valuation as of the end of March 2023 is $872K — and he is closing in on $1 million fast. There are 13 players ahead of Stewart in the 7-figure range, meaning Stewart is one of the first ones out at just $128K away.
He’s a standout sophomore season away from turning that into reality, but he has to heal his leg first.
