Fast-rising 2023 CB Luke Evans offered by Texas A&M
Pompano Beach (Fla.) Marjory Stoneman Douglas CB Luke Evans has flown under the radar as a recruit for much of his high school career. But that looks to be changing in a big way.
The rising senior picked up an offer from Texas A&M on Sunday, after earning ones from Penn State, Georgia, Kentucky and Arkansas late last month. Those are in addition to UCF, Rutgers, Iowa State, Boston College, Indiana and a few others. Evans had a strong performance in front of coaches at the Under Armour Next Camp in Miami, which netted a number of new schools interested in him.
“Blessed to receive an offer from Texas A&M University!!” Evans wrote on Twitter.
“At the start of the year, I had one offer Iowa State that I went up to see in January and really other than that I was just staying focused and working, and then, more schools started coming in,” Evans recently told On3’s DawgsHQ. “Even from when I had just Iowa State to now, all of its been a blessing, and I’m so thankful to God for always guiding me and being there for me.”
Things just starting to heat up for Luke Evans
He tripped to both UCF and Iowa State in January, and visited Georgia this weekend as part of a loaded group of recruits in Athens.

Outside of that, plans are a bit murkier, but he knows what he’s looking for on the trips.
“Other visits are not fully planned yet,” Evans said. “I’m looking for a place that feels like home where I can just work and be the best player I can be for the next level. Also, I’m looking for coaches that have my best interest in mind and will help me get there.”
Evans is currently unranked by the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
