Florida transfer LB Scooby Williams commits to Texas A&M Aggies
Former Florida linebacker transfer Scooby Williams found his home in the transfer portal on Saturday evening. He officially committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, the linebacker told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Williams totaled 69 tackles, one sack, and two forced fumbles during his time with the Gators.
Williams spent three years with the Gators, making 25 total appearances and 10 starts. All 10 of Williams’ starts came in the 2023 campaign. The redshirt sophomore finished this season third on the team in tackles with 53 (27 solo), second in quarterback hurries (5) and tied for team-best in forced fumbles (2) while tallying 4.0 tackles-for-loss, and a sack.
In 2022, Williams played in nine games, tallying 14 tackles. In his true freshman season, Williams only played in four games before opting to use his redshirt. Standing at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, Williams boasts a professional frame.
Williams played high school football at Ramsay (Birmingham, Alabama), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 84 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
