Former Texas A&M star Kenyon Green to wear No. 59 for Texans
Former Texas A&M star offensive lineman Kenyon Green will wear No. 59 for the Houston Texans, according to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson.
Green was a top-rated recruit coming out of high school as well. He was the top interior offensive lineman in the country in the Class of 2019 and No. 1 in his home state of Texas. He was also a five-star prospect and the No. 9 overall prospect in the country, according to the On3 Consensus.
Despite being the No. 15 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, Green was the second draftee the Texans selected in the first round. They used their No. 3 overall selection to take Derek Stingley Jr. out of LSU, filling two major vids on both sides of the ball. Stingley will wear No. 24 for Houston, according to the same report.
With Stingley and Green coming into the league with nothing but SEC experience, both feel like their respective conference schedules have prepared them for the weekly grind in the league that forces you to show out at practice and on Sundays, or you lose your job. As first round picks, both will look to show out early and often.

While Green begins what former head coach Jimbo Fisher believes will be a stellar pro career, the former Aggie All-American should sign a four-year with the Houston Texans worth $15.9 million after being selected 15th overall, according to Spotrac. The deal would also include an $8.7 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option, as all first-round picks do.The deal is also fully guaranteed and includes a 2022 cap hit of just $2.9 million.
He has experience across the offensive line throughout his time in College Station, and Green is expected to play guard for the Texans. Playing every position except for center for the Aggies last season, Green won the team’s Offensive MVP award at the end of the season for his versatility and looks to continue that success into his professional career.
